THIS IS EARLY 19TH CENTURY PIECE. This piece is from andhra pradesh south India lambada gypsy tribe.It is a part of head gear. The piece when used is attached with a round head gear used for carrying water pots. These pieces are attached at the time of marriages and ceremonies and are given as dowry from parents to their daughter. The pattern of embroidery is chain stitch and the base thick cotton. The threads used wool and cotton mix and all colors are natural dyes from stones and plants.
